Whilst the artist is most renowned for his large-scale paintings reflecting his experience in the landscape, mythologies and culture of Cornwall, his work spans a wide variety of media and subject matter. Matthew chose to produce much of his work in private, away from the art world, and many pieces have never been exhibited.
